Time for another themed month at Tune in Tuesday! During September, we’ll be sharing our favorite cover songs. I think this will actually be a pretty difficult theme for me, since I generally tend to prefer the original song to the cover. But it’s always interesting to hear a different spin on a song you like, and there are some very creative bands out there! So this week I’m giving you a cover I actually like: “Come On Eileen” as performed by Save Ferris, covering Dexys Midnight Runners. You may recognize Save Ferris from their cameo in “10 Things I Hate About You” (they were the band that played at the prom)!

I’m not going to lie, I was incredibly nervous to listen to this one because Come On Eileen is way up there on my all-time favorite songs list. But they did an awesome cover of it. It is still that super fun, upbeat sound to it but just different. Thanks for posting!
Phew, I’m glad you enjoyed this cover then! I like that Save Ferris put their own spin on the song but still stayed true to the original.
I love this cover! I was thinking of sharing it at some point, but now I’ll pick something different. Yay for more music! I’m glad you were able to find at least one cover you like. I think they’re a blast. This month is going to be so much fun! Thanks for sharing your awesome pick(s) and also for stopping by my post, too! 😀
I’m so excited that someone else has heard of this band! 🙂 I agree that covers can be fun…I’ll just have to get creative in these next few weeks!
I’m not sure which I like more, the cover or the original. It’s definitely a fun update. I haven’t listened to Save Ferris in years. I think the last time I listened was back when I had a CD Walkman and not an ipod!
Ahh, the Discman. Those were the days. Glad you enjoyed the song — I should really dig out my Save Ferris CDs! 🙂
