Speaking of dance shows, lately I’ve been re-watching the short-lived ABC Family show “Bunheads” and mourning the fact that it was canceled far too soon. It definitely had its weak spots; the tone was frequently uneven, and the teenagers’ constant references to decades-old pop culture definitely strained belief. But it did contain a lot of the witty comebacks and pitch-perfect emotional moments that made “Gilmore Girls” (Amy Sherman-Palladino’s other, more successful show) so great…and also, there was dancing! So for this week’s Tune in Tuesday, I’ve picked a song that was featured as a dance sequence on the show, in the episode “You Wanna See Something?” It’s performed by Lucy Woodward on the show, but I actually quite like a different version…so here’s Björk with “It’s Oh So Quiet”:

Love the song! I love Bunheads. I am still upset it was cancelled too! I am a big Gilmore Girls fan, so I was so excited for Bunheads.
“Gilmore” is one of my absolute favorite shows! I don’t think “Bunheads” was quite at that level yet, but it definitely had the potential! Too bad it never got the chance to grow into it. 😦
Bjork is so amazing!!! I love this song as well, always makes me smile 😉
Haha, I’m actually not too familiar with Björk, although I’m getting the sense she’s very…unique. 🙂 But that can be a good thing!
Bunheads was great, it got cancelled just as I was really getting into it. And I loved the scene where they dance to this song, I’ve always liked it.
I really hate that it got canceled after only one season. I need some of Amy Sherman-Palladino’s whimsy back on my TV screen!
I love Gilmore Girls but I never watched Bunheads. It’s sad that it’s been cancelled though. And I find your song choice very interesting! Okay, not the song choice exactly, more like the artist choice. I don’t listen to a lot of Bjork but what I have heard of her is very trippy, and while this song is a little less trippy, it’s still kind of trippy. LOL!
I really don’t listen to Björk either, but it’s always good to broaden your horizons, right? I actually kind of like the screaming during the “wam-bam” stuff!
