For this week’s Tune in Tuesday, I’ve decided to share “The Parting Glass” as performed by The Wailin’ Jennys. I’m a fairly new fan of their music, but these three women do lovely a cappella arrangements of old folk songs, as well as plenty of original material. I think this song in particular is wonderfully done; it’s one of the most beautiful songs about death I’ve ever heard. Hope you enjoy!
Wow – that’s so beautiful. I love a cappella. I’m going to go look them up.
Glad you enjoyed!
The Wailin’ Jennys are my favorite group ever! (I was going to link to my favorite song, but I like all of them.)
Whoa, that’s funny! I actually only know a couple of their songs, the ones Pandora has dug up for me. But I really like what I’ve heard so far!
Oh my word, this is such a beautiful song! I *like* a Capella but I rarely hear it and end up LOVING it (unless it’s in the form of Pitch Perfect…then I am a bit obsessed lol!) but this is definitely loveable! I will have to check out more of their songs!
Ooh, glad you liked it! Apparently I really need to watch “Pitch Perfect,” as I’ve been hearing it’s good from a lot of people lately.
It is absolutely hilarious and the music in it is so fantastic. I definitely think you need to watch it 🙂
OK, OK, twist my arm! 😉
Amazing!!!!!!! I have got to have this! What a wonderful song. Seriously, thanks for introducing me to the Wailin’ Jennys :).

Aww, glad you liked it! It’s always amazing when you discover a brand-new band to love, isn’t it?
